Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) has set he selection process, which consists of four stages-

• Written Exam: Candidates have to go through the written examination and minimum qualifying marks are: UR – 35%, OBC/EWS – 30%, SC/ST/PwBD/ESM – 25%.
• Skill Test: Skill tests are required for posts like Assistant, UDC, LDC, DEO, and Stenographer (typing/data entry test).
• Interview: Only for Group A posts like Scientist ‘B’ (Written: 85%, Interview: 15%).
• Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates must show original certificates for age, educational qualification, category (if applicable), etc….

CPCB Exam Pattern 2025 for Scientist ‘B’ Posts-

• The exam consists of MCQ, MSQ, and/or NAT, based total of 50 questions.
• The topics asked in the exam from Chemical, Chemistry, Civil, Computer Science, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, and Information Technology.
• The time duration of the exam is 2 hours.
• There is negative marking for MCQ-based questions; negative marking is 1/6 or 2/6.
